OUR MISSION

“Our mission is to engage and expose our visitors to the stories, the people, the history and landscapes that define our plains culture both past and present.”    Donations, grants and gifts help sustain our center and fulfill our mission.

In addition to hosting programs that support local and regional tourism and our community, the Buffalo Bill Cultural Center serves the traveling public as a Kansas community travel and information center.  We engage and educate visitors about our town, region and the entire state of Kansas by offering displays about the history of our sculpture, the plains culture and the Western Vistas Historic Byway.

CONTRIBUTIONS:  The Wild West Historical Foundation welcomes one-time and annual tax deductible cash, check and credit card donations at any time. We rely on donor support for over 50% of the operational budget to support the Buffalo Bill Cultural Center.  Contributions can be mailed to us any time at 3083 US 83, Oakley, Kansas, 67748 or phoned in to 785-671-1000.

CORPORATE DONATIONS, GRANTS AND PROGRAM SPONSORSHIP: Annual programs and displays are made possible by local, regional and national support via grants, contributions, sponsorship and volunteer assistance.  Corporate contributions can be designated to the program or project of your choosing.

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT:  The Buffalo Bill Cultural Center welcomes volunteer assistance from businesses, groups and individuals of all ages.  Volunteer services are needed for greeting and assisting travelers, selling gifts in the gift shop, general cleanup, outside weeding, and supporting our annual programs.  Volunteers who contribute 48 hours or more of service during the year receive 10% off gift shop purchases and are entitled to 50% off one room rental for an event booking of one room or more.  Volunteers are also invited to our annual volunteer appreciation luncheon in April.  Call 785-671-1000 for more information.

The Wild West Historical Foundation, Inc. (d.b.a. Buffalo Bill Cultural Center) is a non profit 501(c)3 corporation.
